After the presentation of the new Android Wear concept a few days ago, I decided to request access to the preview of the SDK.
The first thing to do is update de Android SDK, install the software and download the preview app (it is quite easy if you follow the instructions of the Google website). With all the stuff running, you can try to compile the examples to see the behavior of the new Android Wear.
My first impression is that the functionalities are currently very limited, as far I can see it only seems to work as a wearable notifications display, and allows to show custom and dynamic itemset content into the device.
We’ll wait for updates of the Android Wear SDK, that will give us its full potential, allowing us to costumize the UI, send information, use the sensors and enable voice actions.
But it looks pretty fun …
